Summary
Responsible to: Head of NFTS Cymru Wales
Contract basis: 15 days, 3 days per week. Ideal timeframe w/c 13th April to w/c 11th May. Candidate must be available to attend the launch event in Birmingham on the 14th May. Plus additional 10 days (flexible)
Rate: up to £175 per day, dependent on experience
Purpose of Role
NFTS Cymru Wales is recruiting for an Event Producer on a freelance basis primarily to support the BBC | YouTube Create Connect programme. The ideal candidate will be available to start as soon as possible and should be based in Wales with the ability to commute into central Cardiff at least one day a week. The remaining hours can be worked flexibly.

Main duties and responsibilities
Responsible for the delivery and success of the Create x Connect launch event on the 14th of May.
Work alongside NFTS, BBC and YouTube colleagues to design a compelling programme of panel discussions focussed on YouTube content creation.
Identify, approach and secure high-quality speakers, hosts and panellists for the launch and make suggestions for the online programme and 1 day training events.
Brief and align all panellists and parties in advance of the event to ensure a cohesive and well-prepared on-stage discussion.
Develop panel formats, briefing materials, and programme documentation.
Manage communications between speakers, keeping across logistics and on-site coordination on the day.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders on event branding, marketing and audience experience.
Stay across social media coverage before, during, and after the event, helping to shape and amplify key messages and extend audience reach.
Oversee event timelines – ensuring the event is on time.
Ensure smooth execution on the day.
Monitor, summarise and report feedback from the user base or audience to measure the performance of a project.
Propose, negotiate rates with guest speakers and work within project budgets.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Proven experience producing live events (ideally 200+ attendees), including panel discussions or conference programming.
Excellent speaker management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to research and identify relevant talent and emerging voices.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Experience developing event content, agendas, and audience experience.
Calm under pressure with excellent problem-solving abilities during live events.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
Strong network or familiarity with the creator economy, digital media, or YouTube ecosystem.
Able to work occasional evenings and weekends and at events, where necessary.
Travel may be required for the Create x Connect programme – events take place across the UK.
