Summary

We are looking for a Project Manager at our Swindon Office to manage construction projects up to £32 million, with the aim of achieving profitable, prompt and faultless delivery. You will have overall responsibility for leading the project teams, communicating business and project objectives to all members of the team and ensuring company procedures are followed.

This contractor specialises in new build and refurbishment schemes, working in sectors such as education, MOD, commercial, blue light sector and industrial.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Promoting Company vision, values and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Setting clear goals and objectives for each member of the project team including personal development objectives and ensures open dialogue with each member of the team
  • Empowering and encouraging managers to reach considered and appropriate decisions
  • Leading by example, setting exceptional standards of safety, quality and customer service
  • Holding regular meetings with the site team and specialist contractors at which safety, progress, programme, quality and site coordination are reviewed
  • Planning resources and allocates to the project as appropriate
  • Working closely with the QS to ensure financial targets are met
  • Recording delay and disruption to the progress of the works and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Setting high standard relating to H&S and quality for all to follow and ensure company procedures are applied.

Experience:

  • Degree or MCIOB or equivalent or trade background with a recognised progression through site management
  • Demonstratable commitment to continuing professional development
  • 3 years as a Project Manager
  • Must have new build, refurbishment and D&B experience on education and commercial buildings
  • An understanding of alternative forms of procurement including frameworks, 2 stage tenders and design and build
  • CSCS Card, SMSTS, First Aid at Work
