Summary
Provide specialist advice and coaching to staff, managers and key stakeholders on the full range of information governance legislation, policies and procedures.Prepare and deliver specialist information governance training to staff at all levels of the Trust.Lead on the effective processing of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) requests, escalate exemptions to the Information Governance Manager(s) as and when necessary.Lead the Trusts FOIA/EIR publication scheme.Contribute to the collation of documentary evidence for all statutory reports, including the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) and other regulators.Investigate data breaches and areas of non-compliance within the Trust and assess and advise on the implementation of relevant best practice methods where appropriate.Lead on the planning and scheduling of internal information governance risk monitoring across the Trust.Perform internal information governance risk monitoring and report findings, including compliance risks, to Information Asset Owners and other key stakeholders as appropriate.Provide oversight and coaching on the completion of key documents such as data protection impact assessments, information sharing agreements and third-party agreements to managers across the Trust.Lead on the project management of information governance projects, such as records management and retention.Provide supervisory cover to support activities of the Health Records Office, as required.Proactively research and assimilate information to present solutions to information governance challenges.Author, review and amend Information Governance guidance notes within deadlines.Actively manage performance and develop the Information Governance Administrator through regular supervision, PDRs and training opportunities.Ensure document logs are maintained appropriately in line with legal requirements and take appropriate action to ensure all review deadlines are adhered to.Contribute ideas to support the continuous improvement of information governance activities, processes and procedures.Gather, analyse and present performance data relating to own area of work and projects.Build effective relationships with staff at all levels of the Trust and use influencing skills to make recommendations for changes in working practices to enable IG compliance.Use judgement to identify when additional specialist advice is needed and escalate appropriately.Proactively undertake continuous professional development and to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of legislation, best practice and new developments in Information Governance.
