Full Time | Monday-Friday | 08:30-15:30
We are currently supporting the launch of a brand new alternative provision in Hartlepool, and we are looking to appoint a passionate and resilient Qualified Teacher to join them on a full-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a new learning environment designed to support young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who have been diagnosed with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a broad, engaging curriculum that supports both academic progress and personal development.
The Role
- Full-time position: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30. Starting at the end of March 2026
- Teaching a general curriculum to small groups of pupils
- Supporting students with EHCPs and SEMH needs
- Creating a safe, structured and supportive classroom environment
- Working closely with support staff and external professionals
- Building positive relationships that promote engagement, resilience and confidence in learning
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with SEMH, SEND or alternative provision (preferred but not essential)
- A calm, patient and flexible approach to behaviour management
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to motivate and engage learners
- A commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs and barriers to learning
