Hours: 8:45am - 3:30pm (30‑minute unpaid break)
Pay: Competitive - £14.30 per hour
Contract: Full-time, ongoing
We are seeking a dedicated and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 4. The pupil requires social and emotional support and help staying on task throughout the school day. The ideal candidate will be calm, nurturing, and confident in promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a key part in helping the pupil feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
- Provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Help the pupil stay focused, regulate emotions, and engage positively during lessons
- Use a nurturing and consistent approach to behaviour
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow tailored support strategies
- Encourage independence and confidence
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable but not essential
- A calm, patient, and resilient nature
- Ability to form positive relationships with children
- Someone reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to helping children thrive
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach
- A welcoming and supportive staff team
- Ongoing guidance from the SENCO

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
