SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Aston, Birmingham B6
Daily Pay Rate: £110 - 120
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm
Are you a patient and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference? This rewarding role is based within a Primary school's well-resourced higher needs SEN provision supporting pupils with EHCPs, including autism, SEMH, and speech, language and communication needs (SALCN). The school has a strong focus on inclusive practice and provides a structured, nurturing environment where staff are well-supported. This is an excellent opportunity with the potential to secure a permanent role for the right candidate who demonstrates commitment and impact.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support within the SEN hub
- Support pupils with autism, SEMH, and communication needs
- Implement individual learning and behaviour plans
- Use clear communication strategies and visual supports
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
What We're Looking For:
- Experience supporting children with SEN (autism/SEMH/SALCN essential)
- Experience working within a Primary or Special school
- Confident managing behaviour in a calm, consistent manner
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A nurturing, resilient approach
