We're looking for a School Caretaker who will deliver excellent service standards, while meeting SLA agreements and adhering to cleaning schedules.

Role Responsibilities:

-Undertake all required training and follow Mitie's Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies.

-To be a key holder of the site. Open/closure of the building, ensuring site security and safety of school premises and grounds.

-Reporting vandalism, damage and hazard spots.

-Ensure corridors and fire exits are clear of any obstacles and report any defects.

-Maintain equipment, ensure it is in clean, safe working order and understand all cleaning materials and chemicals used; COSHH.

-Provide emergency and supplemental cleaning when needed (spills, hazards).

-Effective day to day running of site.

-Litter collection outdoor and communal areas. Sweep and tidy, empty bins during the day and at scheduled times.

-Maintain a good working and safe environment.

-Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, security, and safety of school premises and grounds.

-Respond to helpdesk jobs, carry out porterage and room setups.

-Perform PPM tasks; to undertake reactive and planned maintenance tasks, fire alarm tests, emergency light checks, and support out-of-hours building use. As well as monitoring contractors on site dealing with their tasks and providing escort duties where and when required.

-Safeguarding responsibilities caretakers must be fully compliant with school and Mitie safeguarding requirements before starting shifts.

-Ensure adequate stock of maintenance materials are required for site. Informing FM team when needing items to complete tasks.

-Assist with monthly meter readings and demonstrate strong efficiency in monitoring and managing the site's electrical, water, and heating usage.

-Ensure timely delivery of all parcels and postal mail to allocated locations.

-Cover and support wider site team duties during absences, holidays and sickness. Attend other sites in the contract in relation to the service demands is and when required.

-Wear clean, supplied uniform display ID badge and wear PPE when required.

-Be able to understand risk assessments and follow policies and procedures.

-Carry out other reasonable requests required by clients or senior management, within your capabilities that has been actioned by Mitie FM.

What we're looking for:

-Previous caretaking, handyman, maintenance experience.

-Reliable, hardworking, positive 'Can do' and professional attitude. Working well with other site team members and client/school staff.

-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

-Open, honest, self-driven, and determined.

-Computer literate.

-Good communicator.

-Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality, with willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

-Undertake training if required.
