Summary
Driving Hub GB LTD is seeking a committed and experienced Senior Child Care Practitioner to join our residential childcare team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
As a Senior Practitioner, you will support the day-to-day running of the home, lead shifts, and provide high-quality care to young people with emotional and behavioural needs. You will act as a key worker, contributing to care planning, risk assessments, and reviews while ensuring each young person’s individual needs are met.
You will supervise and guide Residential Support Workers, promote safeguarding at all times, and ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards. The role involves working closely with external professionals including social workers, schools, and families to support the development and well-being of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead shifts and support the management team
Provide direct care and emotional support to young people
Maintain accurate records and reports
Promote education, independence, and life skills
Support team development and daily operations
Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Experience working in a residential childcare setting
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Ability to lead shifts and manage challenging behaviour
Good communication and organisational skills
Full UK Driving Licence
This role requires flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins. An enhanced DBS check is required.
