Summary

We are excited to be working with our wonderful client on this fantastic opportunity to appoint a skilled and resilient Registered Manager for a specialist children’s residential service. This role sits within a high‑complexity environment supporting young people with significant emotional and mental health needs, including those stepping down from intensive or hospital‑based settings.

About the Role

You will lead the operational running of the home, ensuring full regulatory compliance and creating a safe, structured and therapeutically informed environment. Young people may present with trauma histories, emotional dysregulation, self‑harm risks and placement instability, requiring strong safeguarding oversight and confident leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Hold Ofsted registration and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
• Oversee daily operations, admissions and placement transitions
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead with responsibility for risk management
• Embed trauma‑informed and psychologically informed care practices
• Provide supervision, coaching and clear expectations for staff
• Monitor care quality, incidents, outcomes and education engagement
• Manage staffing and service resources within agreed budgets

Essential Requirements

• Level 5 Leadership & Management (or working towards)
• At least 2 years’ management experience within a children’s residential setting
• Strong safeguarding experience and confidence managing high‑risk behaviours
• Experience contributing to Ofsted inspections
• Excellent communication skills and strong reporting ability

Desirable

• Experience in Tier‑4 step‑down or CAMHS‑linked services
• Training in trauma‑informed practice or Positive Behaviour Support
• Experience managing complex, high‑risk residential placements
