Lead Our PE Faculty
Our Physical Education Faculty plays a pivotal role in shaping confident, active and well‑rounded young people.

We are looking for adynamic, motivated and visionary PE specialistwho will inspire both staff and students while driving high standards across the department.
The Head of Year provides professional leadership for the learning, pastoral development, wellbeing, and overall progress of students within their year group.
The post holder creates the conditions for excellent academic achievement, exceptional character development, and a culture of high expectations, equality, and inclusion.
They are accountable to the Headteacher for evaluating year group performance, implementing evidence‑informed pastoral practice, and contributing to the school’s vision, ethos, and improvement priorities, including the distinctive Christian mission of St Bede’s Inter‑Church School.
As part of our PE Faculty, you will help us to:
• Lead a committed team of PE professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and high expectations.
• Promote the wider value of PE, connecting sport to wellbeing, leadership, personal development and future opportunities.
• Develop an ambitious, broad and balanced curriculum, offering diverse activities that reflect students’ strengths and interests.
• Inspire a genuine love of physical activity, encouraging students to enjoy PE and develop healthy habits that support their wellbeing now and in the future.
• Show students the wider value of PE, helping them see how sport connects to leisure, culture, teamwork, future careers and essential life skills such as communication, leadership and problem‑solving.
• Develop students’ confidence and personal qualities, fostering resilience, initiative, respect and perseverance. Helping young people build strong self-esteem through physical achievement is central to our approach.
• Create engaging opportunities for both independent and team-based learning, enabling students to discover their strengths and work collaboratively in a variety of activities.
• Champion inclusivity and equal access, ensuring every student—regardless of background, gender or academic ability—experiences success, enjoyment and a sense of belonging in PE.
• Equip students with the enthusiasm and skillsto lead active, purposeful and fulfilling lives beyond school.
