About this role
We are seeking an SLD teacher who values playful practice as a vital part of learning and who can use motivating, hands‑on, and sensory‑rich experiences to promote engagement, communication, and progress.
You will teach within one of our specialist pathways, working with a mixed group of students with Severe Learning Difficulties who have a range of cognitive, communication, sensory, physical and medical needs. The role involves providing high‑quality, personalised teaching that engages, challenges and supports every learner.
Key Responsibilities:
• Delivering high‑quality, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of SLD learners
• Planning and assessing using a pupil‑centred, multi‑sensory approach
• Working collaboratively within a pathway team including Teachers, Learning Leads, Teaching Assistants, Therapists and medical staff.
• Creating an inclusive, safe and stimulating classroom environment
• Developing communication using supported and augmentative systems where
• Contributing to EHCP reviews, annual reviews and ongoing progress monitoring
• Working closely with parents and external professionals
• Ensuring learning is accessible, meaningful and promotes independence
• Using a range of strategies to support engagement, emotional regulation and positive behaviour

• Has experience or a strong interest in teaching pupils with SLD
• Demonstrates creativity, resilience and a commitment to personalised learning
• Has excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
• Shows high expectations for pupil progress and wellbeing
