The role
Carlisle Support Services is looking for a Pest Control Manager who will be responsible for establishing, delivering and growing Carlisle Support Services’ pest control offering as a core part of its integrated FM services. Initially operating in a hands-on capacity, the role will ensure high-quality, compliant service delivery across key contracts while building the operational foundations, client base and commercial model required to scale the service.
Your core role will include but not be limited to the following activities:
- The postholder will create a structured and accountable operating model that drives consistency in delivery while still allowing for flexibility to meet the nuances of individual contracts and client requirements. This includes establishing clear expectations around service standards, performance management and continuous improvement, ensuring that every contract operates in line with both Carlisle’s internal benchmarks and client-specific KPIs.
- Will take a hands-on approach to service delivery, carrying out pest control treatments, inspections and preventative works across a range of environments including rail, transport hubs and commercial facilities.
- This will involve the full scope of pest control activities, including survey work, proofing recommendations, treatment plans and ongoing monitoring. The postholder will ensure that all works are delivered safely, professionally and in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- A core element of the role is the growth and development of Carlisle’s pest control offering. The postholder will be responsible for identifying opportunities within existing contracts, working closely with operational teams and clients to introduce pest control as an added-value service.
- This includes supporting bids, pricing works, developing service models and building a compelling value proposition that aligns with Carlisle’s integrated service offering.
- As demand grows, the Pest Control Manager will be responsible for scaling the operation, including recruiting and developing technicians, building regional coverage and ensuring that service delivery remains consistent and high quality.
- The role requires a proactive and entrepreneurial approach, with a clear focus on turning a developing service line into a profitable and sustainable business unit.
- As the service expands, the role will transition into a more strategic operational management position. The Pest Control Manager will take on responsibility for leading a team of technicians and supervisors, ensuring effective planning, scheduling and performance management across all regions.
- The postholder will be expected to set clear standards, drive performance and ensure that the service operates in line with Carlisle’s wider operational and cultural expectations.
- From the outset, the role will carry responsibility for the commercial performance of the pest control service. This includes pricing work accurately, managing costs and ensuring that all activities contribute positively to the overall profitability of the business.
- As the service grows, the Pest Control Manager will take ownership of budgets, forecasts and financial performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and drive revenue growth.
- The role will also involve supporting contract negotiations, variations and the integration of pest control into wider FM packages.
- You will work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure that the service is aligned with client needs and expectations.
- Will be responsible for ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards, including safe use of chemicals, humane treatment methods and appropriate documentation.
- You will also play a key role in establishing compliance frameworks as the service grows, ensuring that Carlisle maintains a strong reputation for safe and responsible delivery.
- The Pest Control Manager will be encouraged to introduce new techniques, technologies and approaches that improve efficiency, effectiveness and client outcomes.
The ideal candidate
- The successful candidate will have proven experience within the pest control industry, with a strong technical background and a track record of delivering services across multiple sites.
- They will be comfortable operating in a hands-on capacity while also demonstrating the potential to step into a broader leadership role as the service grows.
- Relevant industry qualifications (such as RSPH Level 2 in Pest Management or equivalent) are essential, along with a strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Experience within rail, transport or commercial FM environments would be advantageous.
Personal Attributes
- This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a new and growing service line within Carlisle Support Services, with the autonomy to shape its direction and the support of a wider, established organisation.
- The Pest Control Manager will play a critical role in building a high-quality, self-delivered service that enhances Carlisle’s integrated FM offering and creates long-term value for the business and its clients.
National role/travel
This could include the following: passport / driving licence / utility bill dated in the last 3 months / HMRC letter / original bank statement / original payslip / birth certificate / a valid share code.
