It is not a pre-requisite to be Catholic to apply.The Role: We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to work with a KS2 SEND child. The post holder should have the ability to: • Support the pupil to learn both in group situations and on their own, • Establish supportive relationships with the pupil concerned, • Promote the acceptance and inclusion of the pupil with SEN, encouraging pupils to interact with each other in an appropriate and acceptable manner, • Monitor the pupil’s response to the learning activities and, where appropriate, modify or adapt the activities as agreed with the teacher to achieve the intended learning outcomes, • Give positive encouragement, feedback and praise to reinforce and sustain the pupil’s efforts and develop their self-esteem. • Support the pupil in developing social skills both in and out of the classroom • Provide regular feedback on the pupil’s learning and behaviour to the teacher and Inclusion Manager, including feedback on the effectiveness of the behaviour strategies adopted, • Know and apply school policies on Child Protection, Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Behaviour, Teaching and Learning, Equal Opportunities etc, • Comply with legal and organisational requirements for maintaining the health, safety and security of yourself and others in the learning environment, • Take part in training activities offered by the school to further knowledge and skills of working with a child with specific learning difficulties. Pay and Contract: The role is paid at Hay 10, NJC scale point 8. The role is term time only and is paid for 39 weeks per year, and for 25 hours per week from 9:00am until 1:30pm Monday to Friday. The contract is offered on a fixed term basis with an initial end date of 31st August 2027, subject to the child remaining in the school and the funding continuing. The start date for the role is Monday 1st June 2026.Application Details: The closing date for applications is Monday 20th April 2026 at 09:00 am.
