Summary

Coordinate the clinical guidelines workstream, to ensure the Bedside Clinical Guidelines Partnership provides a high quality, flexible, efficient and effective service. Co-ordinate the development, evaluation and provision of new and existing guidelines. To maintain close contact with clinical specialists at all levels, supporting the development and implementation of the guidelines and associated documentation. Ensure guidelines are consistent with current best practices and external regulatory requirements. Liaise with healthcare professionals to ensure the timely review and update in accordance with current and emerging clinical evidence. Liaise with the wider Multidisciplinary Teams to ensure that all guidelines comply with wider clinical protocols i.e. Pharmacy, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Radiology. Obtain examples of good practice, which can be reviewed and utilised by the Partnership. Ensure guidelines are of consistent format and appearance to allow easy reference Maintain, review and update clinical guidelines templates. Liaise with external agencies and suppliers to produce printed copies (where applicable) of the guidelines. Be responsible for the production of electronic versions of the guidelines for UHNM, partner Trusts and Keele Medical School. Maintain relationship and liaise with members of partnership Trusts outside UHNM to ensure compliance with the guidelines by providing support, advice and training to partner Trusts wishing to adapt the guidelines to reflect local practice and formulary etc. Act as contact point for collaborative agencies e.g. Partner in Paediatrics, West Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network. Ensure the Bedside Clinical Guidelines website is maintained and contains up-to-date information that can be accessed by partner Trusts. Responsible for the organisation, management and maintenance of relevant databases / trackers to monitor status of work programmes. To maintain good working relationships and work as an effective team member. To manage conflicting priorities in order to effectively meet objectives and deadlines. Prolonged concentration required for most analytical procedures. The role involves VDU usage for the majority of the working day, requiring light physical effort and standard keyboard skills
