Summary
The successful candidate will play an important role in protecting the public, being primarily involved in the delivery of local air quality management, along with providing expert air quality advice to key internal and external partners.
To join us, you’ll need experience of the Statutory Local Air Quality Management regime and associated legislation, as well as providing specialist advice to senior colleagues, elected members, the public and partner agencies. Knowledge of environmental legislation is also essential. You will also bring to the role a commitment to work flexibly, and an appetite for engaging in continuous training and professional development in this rewarding field of work.
Your duties will also include investigation and response to complaints in relation to allegations of statutory nuisance, assess and approve s.61 applications, permitting and responding licensing consultations.
You must have working knowledge and understanding of the nuisance provisions of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, knowledge of Licensing legislation and have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Candidate Profile
You will hold a degree or a diploma in Environmental Health or a related subject or have significant experience or have significant experience within EP work, particularly with Air Quality.
