Summary

You will be responsible for undertaking the administrative duties associated with the care of patients and the administration of the department. All employees have an individual responsibility to adhere to the Infection Control Policy and to protect themselves, the patient, visitors and colleagues from the risk of infection. The individual responsibility will include the requirement to attend training at intervals determined by the UHB and understand Infection Control issues as they pertain to their workplace. They will report any identified infection risk and take necessary precautions / actions to prevent transmission. All Junior Doctor posts in the UHB are compliant with the New Deal and the European Working Time Directive. You will be advised of the working pattern for this post prior to taking up your appointment. University Hospital Llandough and University Hospital of Wales operate a Hospital at Night rota and you will be advised of your requirement to participate in this rota prior to your commencement in the post. These posts are designed for individuals who have already made a specialty career choice but who may or may not yet have obtained a Specialty Training Number. A wide range of clinical and laboratory based research projects will be available applicants interested in this pathway will be offered a number of potential research opportunities with named supervisor. The projects should have undergone Scientific Peer/Risk Review, Ethical Review and received full approval from the UHB R&D Department. The UHB where appropriate will support you in seeking funding and a project remit if one is not already determined. You will be responsible to a named consultant and the research projects are designed to provide the basis for an appropriate higher degree for suitable appointees.
