Summary
Please see Job Description for detailed summary of the post. The post holder will be expected to provide a patient centred service, respecting the privacy, dignity and choice of individual patients. They will be responsible with Consultant Neonatal colleagues for the provision of inpatient neonatal services within the East Lancashire Hospital Trust. The posts isbased at the Lancashire Women and Newborn Centre (LWNC) Level 3 NICU at Burnley where the post holder will become part of a team of 6 full time Neonatal Consultants, 2 part time Consultants and 3 Resident consultants. This substantive post attracts a 10 PA job plan with 8 DCC and 2 SPA sessions per week. The on call rota is 1 in 10 with 1 in 10 weekends on call. The post holder will participate in the consultant ward week system of care on the neonatal unit. During the Intensive care week, all fixed commitments are cancelled. As the hot week/special care consultant, they will undertake a daily ward round and will supervise the work of junior medical staff throughout the unit. The clinical duties of the post are in Neonatology, based in Burnley. The new appointee, in conjunction with all other Neonatal colleagues, will also carry out neonatal follow up clinics at the Burnley site.
