Salary
⦠£17.00 per hour base rate
⦠+30% shift allowance
⦠Effective rate: £22.10 per hour
Working Hours
⦠Monday to Wednesday: 20:00 – 06:15
⦠Thursday: 20:00 – 06:00
⦠Total: 38.75 hours per week
⦠Includes:
⦠30-minute unpaid break
⦠Two 10-minute paid breaks per shift
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Miller Programmer (Haas controls) to join a precision engineering team on a permanent night shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-quality precision components to tight tolerances.
You will work as part of a skilled engineering team, supporting efficient production output, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
⦠Offline and/or online programming of Haas CNC milling machines
⦠Setting and operating CNC milling machines
⦠Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
⦠Selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies
⦠Ensuring components meet tight tolerances and quality standards
⦠First-off inspection and in-process quality checks
⦠Editing and optimising programs for efficiency and cycle time reduction
⦠Supporting production targets and continuous improvement activities
⦠Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Essential Skills & Experience
⦠Proven experience as a CNC Miller Programmer (Haas preferred)
⦠Strong understanding of machining principles and tooling
⦠Ability to read complex engineering drawings
⦠Experience working to tight tolerances in a production environment
⦠Competent in program editing and troubleshooting
⦠Self-motivated and able to work independently on night shift
Desirable
⦠Experience in precision engineering / high-spec components
⦠Knowledge of offline programming systems
⦠Multi-axis milling experience
