We are seeking a Project Manager to deliver end-to-end national estate projects across a long-term government contract.

You will oversee the full project lifecycle using RIBA stages and NEC4 methodology, ensuring programme, cost, safety, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction are consistently achieved.

Job Description

We are looking for a technically strong, highly organised project professional who can manage multiple works across a national estate portfolio.

This role is home-based/hybrid, with planned UK-wide travel to government sites as required. You will manage your own programme - travel is scheduled, not reactive.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver multiple construction and M&E projects through all RIBA stages, ensuring time, cost, and quality targets are met.

Lead stakeholder engagement, including scoping sessions, pre-starts, proposals, weekly updates, and monthly progress reviews.

Manage supply chain partners and approved contractors across live sites nationwide.

Maintain strict documentation standards, including minutes, reports, approvals, and compliance records.

Oversee assistant project managers and administrators, providing guidance and ensuring coordinated delivery.

Act as the central link between internal teams, external partners, and client representatives, aligning all parties to scope and objectives.

Monitor budgets, forecast costs, control expenditure, and prepare financial reports.

Identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to NEC4, CDM, and site-specific requirements.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Project management experience, ideally within construction or M&E.

Strong understanding of RIBA stages and proven experience delivering projects under NEC4.

Ability to manage 15+ projects at varying stages simultaneously.

Excellent stakeholder management and client communication skills.

Highly organised with strong documentation discipline.

Must hold a CSCS card or equivalent (IOSH, CDM, SSSTS) for site access.

Background in M&E or construction highly desirable.

Experience in multidisciplinary, sequenced, or lifecycle replacement works beneficial.

Benefits:

Permanent, secure role on a 10-year government contract.

Company car plus private healthcare.

National remit with high autonomy and control over your own programme.

Access to subject matter experts across M&E, Fire, Security, and more.

Hybrid working.

Opportunity to manage a substantial public-sector project portfolio (£10–£20M per PM).
