Summary

PPIE training, resources and support for researchers and registered clinical academic staff Working as part of the team, embed PPIEP best practice across the Oxford BRC. In collaboration with researchers, clinical staff and partner organisations and public contributors to develop and keep up to date PPIEP materials for researchers. Design and deliver, in collaboration with researchers, PPIE contributors and partner organisations (e.g. OUH and the University of Oxford communications, engagement and EDI leads, NIHR infrastructure, community networks), PPIEP training for Oxford BRC researchers. This will include introductory and advanced training. Embed EDI into the training, clearly conveying its relevance to all aspects of PPIEP, including recruitment, induction and working relationships. Organise and deliver with colleagues and partner organisations (see previous bullet point) workshops, conferences and webinars to increase PPIEP knowledge and skills. Provide bespoke, individual researcher advice on how to incorporate PPIEP into their research at different stages of the research cycle, including advice on grant applications. Distribute guidance and information for Oxford BRC Theme leads and teams so that we can demonstrate PPIEP in our research priorities. Maintain data on attendees and evaluation data. Training, resources and support for public contributors To design and deliver, in collaboration with researchers and public contributors, PPIEP training for public contributors. Working with community networks, patient organisations, and public contributors ensure that PPIEP training is inclusive. Plan and target PPIEP training to under-served communities. Work with colleagues (e.g. OUH, University of Oxford communications, engagement and EDI leads, NIHR infrastructure, community networks) to design and deliver PPIEP public contributor training. Maintain data on attendees and evaluation data. Provide and present training progress reports/presentations as needed to external and internal audiences. In collaboration with colleagues in the Oxford BRC team, provide support for the management of public involvement groups the Patient Advisory Group, the Diversity in Research Group and the Diversity Network. In collaboration with colleagues, support or lead in-person public involvement events.
