About the Role

We are seeking an articulate, talented and commercially minded Lead Human Insights Researcher (Social Science / Anthropology) to join a dynamic and award-winning innovation design consultancy. This role sits at the intersection of human insight and business strategy, supporting global clients in understanding how people think, behave, and interact within rapidly evolving social and technological contexts.

You will work across a diverse range of sectors including medical devices, life sciences, consumer goods, physical and digital user experiences, and emerging AI technologies. The role requires a strong ability to translate deep human insights into actionable business recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct in-field ethnographic research, including interviews, observation, and immersive studies
- Analyse qualitative data to uncover meaningful patterns, behaviours, and insights
- Translate human insights into strategic recommendations for clients
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across research, design, and consulting
- Contribute to projects spanning user experience research, design research, and innovation strategy
- Identify emerging societal trends and phenomena, particularly within healthcare, life sciences, and technology
- Engage directly with clients, helping them navigate complex human-centred challenges

About You

- 2:1 or above in a Bachelor's degree / equivalent
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a corporate, consultancy, or agency environment, or a PhD in a relevant field
- Background in anthropology, social sciences, human sciences, or a related discipline
- Strong experience in ethnographic research methods and qualitative analysis
- Comfortable conducting in-field research and international travel
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to connect human behaviour to business challenges
- Naturally curious, inquisitive, and observant, with a passion for understanding people
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, especially communicating complex ideas effectively
- Experience writing compelling proposals
