About the Role:
As our Management Accountant, you’ll provide high‑quality financial support and advice to budget holders, ensuring they have the insight they need to make strong, data‑driven decisions. You will act as a trusted partner, supporting operational teams across the business and helping maintain a high‑performing, customer‑focused Finance function.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing tailored financial support, training and advice to budget holders across your business area.
Preparing accurate and timely management accounts, forecasts and reports.
Supporting the preparation of annual budgets, outturns and reforecasts.
Translating complex financial information into accessible, actionable insight.
Working collaboratively with colleagues in Treasury, Financial Accounting and Financial Operations.
Attending meetings across different sites, strengthening relationships and ensuring effective partnership working.
What You’ll Bring
Essential experience and skills:
Experience working within a social housing, regulated or similarly complex environment.
AAT qualification (or equivalent) and wanting to continue studying
Strong experience with budgets, forecasting, variance analysis and management reporting.
Proven ability to build effective working relationships with budget holders and operational teams.
High standard of numeracy and accuracy, with strong Excel and finance system capability.
Ability and willingness to travel to other offices to support one‑team working.
Clear communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial information.
Desirable:
Knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS102.
Experience embedding Value for Money and commercial thinking.

This is a permanent role working 35 hours per week. Your main base will be our Atlantic Pavilion office at the Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool, with travel to other offices as required.
