Background of department/role

We are looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to work with their team leader, within our busy Housekeeping team, which is part of the Facilities & Commercial Services Department at Canterbury Christ Church University.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, friendly, hard-working and efficient person to work across the Canterbury campus in residential and/or non-residential buildings. The Supervisor will hold supervisory responsibility, need to have a flexible approach and to be able to meet with the expectations of providing a consistent, quality service to students, staff and external visitors.

The role is varied and no day is ever the same. A flexible and adaptable approach will assist you in this role and good customer services, communication, forward planning, problem solving are also skills that will be integral to carrying out Supervisor duties.

Experience of working in a cleaning environment and good IT knowledge and skills are essential.

How will you work?

The post of Supervisor is responsible for their housekeeping team over split working patterns and will involve working in all areas across the Canterbury campus and other university buildings including Accommodation, where they will ensure that the best service is provided to staff, students and visitors to keep a clean and tidy environment throughout the university.

Role is part time (30 hours per week) with following shift pattern

Saturdays/Sundays 07.00-13.00; Mondays-Thursdays 11.00-17.00

Occasional travel to sites beyond the main campus may be required to provide cover to all sites. Therefore a driving license is desirable.
