Required as soon as possible.
Casual
Pay: £13.00 per hour
At The Elizabethan Academy, we’re more than just a successful and popular 11–18 comprehensive school — we’re a family. Our staff, students and wider community proudly call ourselves Team Elizabethan, and we’re excited to be growing our fantastic team of Exam Invigilators, Readers and Scribes.
If you’re looking for flexible, meaningful work where you can genuinely support young people at a key moment in their educational journey, we’d love to hear from you.
Why Join Our Invigilation Team?
Our invigilators play a vital role in helping our students feel supported, calm and ready to succeed. You’ll be joining a friendly, welcoming and experienced team who will make you feel part of the Elizabethan family from day one.
This is a perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, values teamwork, and is seeking flexible, school‑day hours.
When We Need You
We conduct exams throughout the academic year — with our busiest periods in January, March, May, June and November. You don’t need to be available for every session, and we can offer flexibility around timings wherever possible.
You’ll help ensure exams run smoothly, fairly and in line with official regulations. Duties may include:
• Setting up the exam room and ensuring students have everything they need
• Monitoring and supporting students during exams in a calm, professional manner
• Distributing and collecting exam papers accurately
• Keeping track of timings and following all procedural requirements
• Providing one‑to‑one support as a Reader or Scribe, if this matches your skills
• Working fully in line with JCQ Regulations and school policies
The role may involve invigilation, reading, scribing, or a mixture — we’re happy to match tasks to your strengths.
