Summary

A Vacancy at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.


The post‑holder will join the Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery team to provide high‑quality elective and emergency services across the Trust. The role includes specialist hand surgery—covering trauma, reconstruction, congenital conditions, infection management, and nerve/tendon injury—alongside general plastic surgery and microsurgical responsibilities. The consultant will contribute to the development of patient pathways, support multidisciplinary working, deliver teaching and supervision, and take part in governance, audit, and research activities.



Provide consultant‑led services inhand surgeryincluding trauma, soft‑tissue injuries, tendon/nerve repair, degenerative conditions, congenital differences, and infection.

Undertakeplastic surgery operative work, including elective procedures, trauma reconstruction, skin cancer surgery, and microsurgical reconstruction as required.

Provide comprehensive care in skin cancer, including: - diagnosis, staging, and surgical excision, local flap and graft reconstruction

Provideemergency care, including participation in the consultant on‑call rota for plastics/hand trauma.

Run outpatient clinics, minor procedures, and elective operating lists across Trust sites.

Deliver expert assessment and perioperative management of patients, ensuring safe, evidence‑based practice.

Offer specialist advice to colleagues, primary care, and regional partners.

Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings such as trauma, skin cancer, and complex case discussions.
