General Operative
Summary
The Production Operative is responsible for site general duties, including receiving incoming vehicles, working on filling/production lines, keeping work areas clean & free from obstacles. Be fully qualified to drive a counter-balance forklift. Being responsible for the safe operation & maintenance of any plant or equipment owned by or hired by Adomast Manufacturing Ltd. Monitor & operate any process equipment at our works in Barnsley.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
• Follow government & company Health & Safety guidelines to maintain a safe & efficient working environment.
• Ensures plant is maintained accordingly to company standards & customer requirements.
• Provides basic facility maintenance including cleaning, basic repair & yard upkeep.
• Record product information accurately & legibly.
• Provides excellent customer service as required & directed.
• Maintains positive attitude & professional demeanour.
• Meet time driven deadlines whilst maintaining a high-quality standard of work.
• Monitor & troubleshoot operating equipment.
• Load & unload trucks acting as a ‘banksman’ when required.
• Operate forklift in a safe manner.
• Work on a supervised production/filling lines.
• Perform general equipment & site housekeeping.
• Ensure you & equipment adheres to all safety and environmental rules.
• Help with any plant improvement projects.
• Identify process deviations & perform root cause/corrective actions.
• Conduct area inspections & audits.
• Once fully trained, control & operate equipment & tools provided.
• Handle material & waste.
• Monitor & troubleshoot operating equipment to perform preventive & routine maintenance.
• Observe gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure machines/plant is working properly.
• Replenish consumable inventory as needed.
• Keep records of hours worked.
• Such other duties as requested by your line manager.
