Summary
Job title: Footwear Production Operative (Machines)
Reporting to: Footwear Production Manager
Location: Workmaster Boots Part of Respirex Group, Kemblok House Fleming Way, Crawley RH10 9JY
Hourly Rate: £12.71 per hour (with occasional overtime at enhanced rates)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 40 hrs per week (08.30 - 17.00 hours)

We are recruiting for a Machine Operative to work in our Crawley Footwear factory. Respirex are manufacturers of market-leading industrial personal protective clothing that are sold globally. Our dedicated Crawley site uses state-of-the- art production methods and relies upon collaborative team-work to make our boots efficiently.
Ideally you will have previous experience within a manufacturing environment, but we will consider applications from people who do not have this because we will train you in full.
Scope:
To work as part of the team on the shop floor to produce high quality protective footwear.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Maintaining and promoting a clean and organised work environment
- Ensuring our customer orders are met to our high standards of quality
- Ensuring all safety and compliance procedures are maintained accurately and consistently
- Working with line managers to continuously improve process and procedures
- Assisting with maintenance of equipment and cleaning as required
- Complete quality checks and record results, reporting any non-conformances
- Contribute to meeting team and company-wide production targets, which make a real difference to our business and our customers
- This role includes manual handling, heavy lifting, operating machines, and standing for long periods.
Experience:
- Working within a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
- The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated, be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team, have an organised/systematic approach to their work and possess good communication skills.
- Have great attention to detail and demonstrate an organised/systematic approach to their work
- Good communication skills
