A specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Wirral is seeking an experienced, committed, and resilient Full-Time Teacher to join their dedicated team. The school provides highly individualised education for 15 pupils, each with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and presenting a range of significant behavioural, emotional, and social needs.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a small, nurturing environment where staff consistency, emotional understanding, and personalised learning approaches make a powerful impact on young people's lives.

The successful candidate will:
- Deliver high-quality, differentiated learning to pupils with complex SEMH needs.
- Use strong behaviour regulation and de‑escalation techniques to maintain a safe, structured environment.
- Build trusting, positive relationships that support emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and external professionals to implement tailored support.
- Plan creative, flexible lessons that meet a wide range of academic and developmental needs.
- Contribute to a whole‑school approach where empathy, boundaries, and safety are at the heart of daily practice.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience working in SEMH, PRU, alternative provision, or specialist SEND settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a calm, consistent, and nurturing approach.
- Resilience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting pupils with complex behaviours and emotional needs.
- Small class sizes allowing for meaningful, personalised support.
- A strong, supportive team committed to trauma‑informed and relational approaches.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
