Cardiology SpR – Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a post offering clinical experience in Cardiology. This post is suitable for post foundation stage doctors or junior doctor with some previous experience in Cardiology planning to pursue a career in Cardiology. This is a fixed term post for 6 months with a possibility to extend.

BHRUT is one of the largest acute trusts in the UK, providing acute care for over 700,000 people. The successful applicant will work at Queens and King George Hospitals providing and taking part in a range of services including supporting Cardiology outpatient clinics, Inpatient reviews and the post holder will have ward commitments.

The post will also support patients on both sites and will work closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialists in Cardiology. This post will give an excellent opportunity to gain experience in Cardiology with attendance encouraged at departmental and regional Academic meetings.

There is an on call commitment allocated to this post. This is banded and you will participate in the on-call rota.

GMC registration and MBBS are essential. MRCP is desirable but not essential. Some previous experience Cardiology is highly desirable.

This Trust Grade Registrar (ST3 equivalent) post is based at Barking, Havering and Redbridge Hospitals across two sites. The appointee will gain experience in the various aspects of general cardiology. This post is fixed term with an on-call commitment.

He/she will work alongside the Cardiology ST3 in providing the day-to-day care for the inpatients on the coronary care unit/cardiology ward. Responsibilities will include seeing ward referrals under the supervision of the consultant cardiologists. He/she will also supervise two IMTs and three junior clinical fellows.

The successful applicant will undertake up to two outpatient general cardiology clinics per week.

The post will potentially involve early career development in cardiology training opportunities such as echocardiography and/or coronary angiography or pacing depending on the interest and level of experience of the successful candidate.

The appointee will be expected to contribute to departmental audit projects and to the teaching of medical students. There is a weekly cardiology departmental meeting for teaching and training purposes which should be attended.
