Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday–Friday | 8.30am – 4.30pm
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: April 2026

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality education for pupils, helping them to engage with learning and develop greater independence. Working closely with teachers and tutors, you will contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment that meets the individual needs of each student, in line with organisational policies, procedures and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the class teacher or tutor to deliver high-quality teaching and learning for all pupils
Assist in the implementation of relevant education policies and procedures
Provide tailored support to pupils on an individual or small-group basis to help them access the curriculum as independently as possible
Promote pupils’ physical, educational and moral development in line with organisational values
Help organise and maintain the classroom environment, including resources, displays and student groupings, to create a stimulating and supportive learning space
Ensure equipment and resources are used safely and efficiently, reporting any maintenance issues as required
Support the teacher or tutor in contributing to, updating and implementing pupil documentation, such as Individual Education Plans, Behaviour Support Profiles, risk assessments and pastoral plans, as appropriate
Work effectively with colleagues to support pupils with autistic spectrum disorder and other additional needs
This role is ideal for a caring, organised and proactive individual who is committed to supporting pupils to achieve their potential within a structured and nurturing educational setting.

About Us

Our new Options Autism school – Penny Tree – will have capacity for 60 pupils and is expected to open in the near future.
