Summary

Are you an organised, detail-focused finance professional who values accuracy, accountability and purpose? Do you want your financial skills to directly support investment in neighbourhoods, children, families and communities across Gloucestershire?

Gloucestershire Gateway Trust is seeking a proactive and reliable Finance Officer to manage our day-to-day financial operations and support budgeting, reporting, compliance and audit processes. You will have a strong working knowledge of finance systems and controls, be confident managing multiple funding streams, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative, values-driven organisation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, works autonomously, and understands the importance of clear financial information in supporting community impact.

The core themes to the role are:

Financial Operations and Controls: You will manage the day-to-day financial activity of GGT, including maintaining accurate records on QuickBooks, processing income and expenditure, raising invoices, reconciling bank and card accounts, and ensuring robust financial controls are in place.

Budgeting, Reporting and Analysis: You will produce accurate quarterly budget versus expenditure reports, support organisational budgeting and forecasting, and prepare financial information for trustees, commissioners and funders to support planning and accountability.

Fund, Contract and Grant Management: GGT works with a range of restricted and unrestricted funding streams. You will monitor expenditure against grant and contract budgets, maintain clear audit trails, ensure compliance with funding conditions, and highlight risks or variances.

Payroll, Audit and Compliance: Working with an external payroll provider, you will support accurate payroll administration. You will also assist with year-end processes, audit preparation, VAT considerations and compliance with charity finance requirements.

Systems, Processes and Continuous Improvement: You will work with the CEO and consultant accountant to improve financial processes, documentation and systems, supporting efficiency, transparency and the long-term sustainability of GGT.

Applications must be made using the Gloucestershire Gateway Trust application form and submitted online, as CVs will not be accepted as part of our Safer Recruitment Policy. Please download and complete the application form before starting the simple online application process on our website.
