Summary
Mobile Assistant Janitor (lock up) based at Waid Academy, covering all janitorial duties along with cleaning and school crossing patrols in the area as required.
We currently have a permanent vacancy to join our team within Schools and Nurseries in the Anstruther area, Monday to Friday.
You will earn a competitive salary of £25,604.23 to £26,786.83 per year and have access to a range of benefits, including:
We pay the Scottish Local Government Living Wage of £13.64 per hour for this post, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekends.
Pay is 4 weekly and annualised

Base – Waid Academy
Mobile Assistant Janitor - 20 hours per week, from 4:30pm to 8:30pm on a 52-week contract.
Undertaking prescribed cleaning procedures as directed in various establishments and ensuring all bodily fluid/spillages are dealt with in accordance with Service guidelines.
Ensuring that educational establishments and grounds are opened at prescribed times, and that they are secure at the end of the working day.
Co-operating with all appropriate personnel and agencies in maintaining the security of the premises.
A willingness to complete additional training as required.
Responding to emergency call-outs in accordance with established procedures, including attending at the location, contacting appropriate authorities, inspecting for damage and theft, effecting repair and where necessary, liaising with contractors / emergency services on site.
Have the ability to travel to other locations within the specified area of work as required - a current Driving Licence is required for council vehicles.
Carrying out prescribed procedures in the event of fire, flooding, accident, or damage including liaising with appropriate staff, contractors etc.
The Person
Ability to provide a regular and effective service, working alone or as part of a Team.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
Driver’s licence required for Council Vehicle provided to carry out duties.
You will be required to attend an Induction Training Day before starting in post.
