Summary

Salary: £14.00/hour + £60 per sleep-in
Hours: Rota-based, approx. 165 hours/month + sleep-ins + overtime available

About the Role

Acorns to Oaks Children's Services & Support is seeking compassionate and professional Residential Support Workers to join our dedicated team. You’ll play a vital role in supporting children and young people in care, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and empowering home environment.

Job Description & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality care and supervision in line with safeguarding and health & safety standards
Provide personal intimate care for the children
Lead daily routines, shift planners, and weekly activity schedules
Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with professionals and families
Support children under stress with empathy and direction
Monitor and guide colleagues to uphold best practice
Attend meetings and liaise with social workers, schools, and other agencies
Manage petty cash and contribute to quality assurance processes (Reg 44/45)
Role model professionalism, flexibility, and compassion across the team
What We’re Looking For

Experience working providing personal care within a care sector. Ideally within children or young people in residential or care settings but not essential.
Must have a full driving licence.
Strong understanding of safeguarding and risk management
Excellent communication and record-keeping skills
Ability to lead shifts and support colleagues
Commitment to continuous learning and reflective practice
Willingness to work flexible hours including sleep-ins and occasional overtime
