Summary
The role is responsible for supporting the delivery of accurate and timely clinical coding across the Trust, ensuring full adherence to national standards, Trust policies, and National Tariff requirements. This includes managing and prioritising workloads, resolving complex coding queries, and contributing to improvements in coding accuracy, documentation quality, and operational processes. The post holder also supports staff training, implements new national directives, participates in audits, represents the department in meetings, and contributes to the ongoing development and strategic direction of the clinical coding service. To fulfil these responsibilities, the post holder works closely with a wide range of stakeholders. Key relationships include daily collaboration with the clinical coding team and regular engagement with clinicians to clarify documentation and resolve coding issues.
