Summary

Hours: 2 hours per day, 2 days per week

Provision: 1:1 Play‑Based Tutoring
Needs: Undiagnosed but presenting with autistic traits

We are looking for a warm, patient, and engaging Early Years Play‑Based Tutor to support a 6‑year‑old learner who is not formally diagnosed but displays traits associated with autism. Sessions will focus on building early learning skills, confidence, communication, and engagement through child‑led, play‑centred approaches.

This is an ideal role for someone passionate about developmental learning, SEN support, and helping children thrive through meaningful, fun, hands‑on activities.
- Deliver play‑based Early Years learning tailored to the child's interests and pace.
- Support communication, interaction, and emotional regulation through gentle, structured play.
- Create a calm, engaging environment that encourages exploration and confidence‑building.
- Use simple routines, visuals, and sensory‑friendly strategies where helpful.
- Provide brief session notes and communicate progress as required.
- Experience working with Early Years learners.
- At least 6 months experience over the last 5 years in UK schools
- Knowledge or experience supporting children with autistic traits or SEN.
- Creative, patient, and able to build rapport quickly.
- Ability to plan playful, engaging, child‑centred learning activities.
- Regular 1:1 sessions over two days per week.
- Supportive commissioning team.
