Summary
We are looking to recruit a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the acute Therapy services within St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This post provides an excellent opportunity for both new graduates and Band 5s with current post–registration experience to work with patients and clients who have a wide range of health conditions. We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate in their application form and at interview: relevant hospital experience including skills in autonomous decision making, acute assessment, discharge planning and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Our current rotations include both hospital and community-based rotations which include Surgery, Vascular, Older People’s Services, Oncology/ Specialist Medicine, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Stroke, Neurosurgery, Neurorehabilitation and Social Services. The successful candidates will rotate every six months at the beginning of April and October and will have the opportunity to work in various locations across Wandsworth.
The post involves working as part of the wider Interdisciplinary team and working alongside qualified Occupational and Physiotherapists to provide direct patient intervention (both one-to-one and group sessions). These interventions include physical, sensory,cognitive and perceptual rehabilitation sessions.
The role alsoassists with administrative tasks such as maintenance of equipment loans systems, information gathering and promotion of best quality patient care.
The postholder contributes to 7- day working and will work rostered weekends within STAR / Haem-Oncology.
