Summary
These pan London roles sit at the centre of the Court and Enforcement function and offer the opportunity to shape delivery across all London court sites during a period of significant operational change.
Why this role matters
You will join the Court Team at a critical time, as London prepares for and implements the ISR (Imposition, Sentencing and Release) changes. Your leadership will be pivotal in supporting staff through transition, embedding revised processes, and ensuring that operational expectations are delivered confidently, consistently and with clear oversight. This is a key opportunity for someone who thrives on leading improvement, supporting people through change and working in a fast paced, high profile environment.
What the role offers
• A central leadership position influencing London wide performance and quality.
• The opportunity to shape how court services operate during major national reforms.
• A meaningful role strengthening staff capability, resilience and consistency across districts.
• Professional development through exposure to multi agency partnership work, operational leadership, governance and strategic decision making.
Key responsibilities
You will:
• Provide strategic and operational support across the Court and Enforcement functions, ensuring high quality delivery and consistent standards.
• Lead on performance, quality assurance, audits and inspections, driving improvement and supporting managers to meet targets.
• Oversee professional development activity, including training needs analysis, induction and capability building.
• Represent senior leadership with external partners, including participation in MAPPA where required.
• Contribute to serious incident reviews, operational action plans and case governance improvements.
• Manage business support and administrative functions to ensure strong organisational performance.
• Support staff through the rollout of ISR reforms, providing clarity, guidance and operational assurance.
Please note: These responsibilities are not exhaustive. Candidates should refer to the full job description for the complete range of duties and behavioural expectations.
Mandatory Vetting Requirement – Non Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV)
This role requires the postholder to access sensitive police and criminal justice information and systems, including information shared under Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA). As a result, Non Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) is a mandatory requirement.
NPPV is a police led vetting process that provides assurance of an individual’s integrity, reliability and suitability to access police information, intelligence and systems. It is required for non police staff working in roles where there is unsupervised physical or remote access to police premises, data, or classified material.
Appointment to this role is conditional upon successfully obtaining and maintaining the required level of NPPV clearance. Successful candidates must be willing to undergo the NPPV process upon appointment. Where NPPV clearance is not granted or cannot be maintained, this may affect the individual’s ability to carry out the duties of the role.
