Start Date: After the Easter holidays
Contract: One full term initially, with potential to continue until the end of the academic year
Pay: MPS / UPS (paid to scale)

I'm working with a welcoming and community‑focused primary school in the Hunslet area who are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join their team after the Easter break. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing school with a strong sense of identity, supportive leadership and a commitment to helping every child flourish.
The school is known for its inclusive ethos, warm atmosphere and strong pastoral foundations. Staff work closely together to create a calm, purposeful learning environment where pupils are encouraged to be kind, confident and curious. About the Role
- Taking full responsibility for a Year 1 class
- Planning, delivering and assessing lessons that build on Early Years foundations and support a smooth transition into KS1
- Delivering high‑quality phonics teaching
- Creating an engaging, supportive and well‑structured classroom environment
- Working in close partnership with support staff, colleagues and families
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1
- Strong understanding of phonics and early reading development
- A nurturing, patient and consistent teaching style
- Someone who can build strong relationships and contribute positively to the wider school community
