Summary
About the Role
Antson Engines Ltd is a busy machinery repair workshop based in London, specialising in
the service and repair of gardening equipment and construction machinery — including
lawnmowers, strimmers, chainsaws, generators and plant machinery. We’re looking for a
reliable, hardworking Workshop Assistant (also known as a mechanic’s assistant or
workshop technician’s helper) to join our team full-time and keep the workshop running
smoothly.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Washing, degreasing and cleaning engine parts and mechanical components ready
for inspection and repair
• Keeping the machinery repair workshop clean, tidy and safe at all times
• Assisting qualified mechanics during servicing and repair of gardening and
construction equipment
• Organising tools, spare parts and equipment around the workshop
• Safely disposing of waste materials, oils and fluids in line with workshop procedures
• Supporting the team with general workshop tasks as required
What We’re Looking For
Mechanical awareness:
Some basic knowledge of engines, power tools or groundscare equipment is a bonus — full
on-the-job training will be provided to the right candidate.
Physical fitness:
This role involves lifting, manual handling and being on your feet in a workshop environment
throughout the day.
Reliability:
We need someone who shows up, works hard and takes pride in a job well done.
Team player:
You’ll work closely with our mechanics day-to-day in a hands-on, fast-paced repair
workshop.
