Summary

Two Site Services Assistants are required on a fixed term basis to provide a service and support to student residents and guests covering a wide range of tasks within the University owned and managed student accommodation. The tasks include reception, responding to incidents, movement of a heavy goods and rubbish, key management, and security patrols.
Creating a safe and positive living environment for all our residents. The post will be based at Hillhead student accommodation but the postholder may be required to work at other student accommodation sites during the term of the contract. Working throughout the summer period.

This post is a fixed term of 14 weeks – start date 8th June – end date 13th Sept

Key Responsibilities:

• To carry out a wide range of duties including manual transportation of equipment, furnishings and other resources used on sites, to carry out extensive carpet cleaning throughout the accommodation provision.
• To carry out a wide range of operational duties such as key management, mail distribution and delivery and refuse collection & disposal.
• To deal effectively with a range of different incidents as they present themselves including fire alarm activations, noise complaints, lockouts, intruders and other emergency situations including administering first aid (when trained) and calling emergency services or Student Resident Assistants in accordance with guidelines and standard operating procedures.
• Adhere to University’s Health & Safety policy. Carry out a range of Health & Safety related tasks including Fire Equipment Checks, reacting to adverse weather conditions, site security patrols in all weather conditions.
• To deal with a range of student, staff and conference guest queries, undertaking tours of the Village with prospective students and families.
• To be flexible in your approach to work and to undertake any other reasonable duties as may be requested by your line manager to meet University operational requirements and to maintain a safe, clean and secure campus.
• To assist in the preparation of the village site for the September intake of residents.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 1, SP7 (£24,554 per annum, pro rata)
