Summary
The post holder will offer advice, support and clinical input to the defined client group and their families as well as colleagues both internally and externally to the trust, undertaking the role of an Independent non-medical prescriber (as per legal limitations, defined by Registration) following appropriate training in accordance with EPUT Polices and procedures.
· To work closely with Community Paediatricians in delivering a service to children diagnosed with ADHD, undertaking the role of an Independent non-medical prescriber.
· To contribute to the care, co-ordination and management of a defined caseload of clients with ADHD and co-morbid-disorders with a view to promoting the management of the disorder in a community setting in accordance with national guidelines and Trust policy.
· To work with complex families under stress,identifying children at risk and initiate Safeguarding Children procedures.
· To participate in appropriate training developments as required.
· To lead on to evaluation reports to assess the workload and contribute to service development, including development of digital and virtual care.
· To develop digital material and resources that disseminate facts and management strategies for children with ADHD.
· To help parents to become more empowered and resilient through knowledge, management and understanding of ADHD.

· To work as an independent non-medical prescriber within areas of work as required, taking responsibility for the clinical assessment of the patient, establishing the clinical management required, as well as responsibility for prescribing where necessary and the appropriateness of any prescription issued.
· Independent prescribers will be responsible for prescribing a range of drugs within their competence in accordance with Trust / Commissioner formulary and British National Formulary.
· To write prescriptions in accordance with Trust policy, taking full responsibility for the patient as well as for the medicines prescribed
· Where it is recognised that a patient’s needs are outside your clinical and professional experience, to take responsibility to make referrals to a specialist doctor, the multidisciplinary team or other agency.
· In the event of adverse drug reaction, to be accountable for ensuring that the GP/Consultant is advised accordingly, and that the Trust’s incident reporting process is followed
