Brightwork are delighted to be supporting our global manufacturing client in their search for an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team based in West Lothian. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, with a particular focus on Accounts Receivable, cash allocation, and maintaining accurate customer accounts.
Key Responsibilities
• Raising and processing customer invoices in a timely and accurate manner
• Allocating incoming payments and reconciling customer accounts
• Supporting credit control activities, including chasing outstanding payments
• Investigating and resolving invoice queries and account discrepancies
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer account records
• Producing customer statements and assisting with aged debt reporting
• Managing finance inbox queries and liaising with internal and external stakeholders
• Supporting month-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting
• Assisting with general finance administration and audit preparation
What We’re Looking For
• Previous experience in a finance or accounts role, ideally with exposure to Accounts Receivable or credit control
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles
• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) is advantageous but not essential
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
• A positive, team-focused attitude with a willingness to learn
