The Role
We are looking for a confident and customer-focused Telephone Operator to join our Taunton team.
You will be the first point of contact for customers, handling incoming calls, taking bookings, and supporting the smooth running of our dispatch operation.
This is a fast-paced role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
Answer incoming calls in a professional and friendly manner
Accurately take and input booking details into the system
Communicate clearly with drivers and dispatch teams
Monitor live bookings and provide updates to customers where required
Handle customer queries and resolve issues efficiently
Maintain high standards of customer service at all times
Support the wider office team with operational tasks
What We’re Looking For
Strong communication skills (clear and confident on the phone)
Good computer literacy
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail
A positive and professional attitude
Ability to work as part of a team
Desirable (but not essential):
Previous experience in a call centre, taxi office or customer service role
Knowledge of the local Taunton area
