Summary
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Project Manager & Infrastructure Engineer to lead and deliver complex IT projects while maintaining and optimizing core infrastructure systems. This hybrid role requires both strategic project management capabilities and strong hands-on technical expertise in infrastructure design, deployment, and support.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
Lead end-to-end IT projects, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget
Define project plans, timelines, and resource allocation
Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams
Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
Provide regular project status updates and reporting
Infrastructure Engineering
Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure (servers, networks, cloud environments)
Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of systems
Manage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
Oversee system upgrades, migrations, and deployments
Monitor performance and troubleshoot technical issues
Security & Compliance
Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with UK regulations (e.g., GDPR)
Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments
Documentation & Support
Maintain technical documentation and SOPs
Provide 2nd/3rd line support when required
Train and mentor junior team members
Key Requirements
Proven experience as an IT Project Manager and/or Infrastructure Engineer
Strong knowledge of networking, virtualization, and cloud technologies
Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
Hands-on experience with tools like Jira, MS Project, or similar
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Relevant certifications (preferred):
PRINCE2 / PMP
AWS / Azure certifications
ITIL
Salary (UK Market Range)
£55,000 – £85,000 per annum (depending on experience and location)
Senior/Lead-level candidates may command £90,000+
