Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join and lead a newly established non-medical prescribing workforce within the Children’s ADHD pathway. This role has been created as part of the local ADHD transformation programme and offers the opportunity to shape and develop high-quality, innovative services for neurodivergent children and young people.
The post holder will provide clinical leadership and supervision to the nurse prescriber workforce, while delivering advanced clinical care including ADHD medication management, titration, and review. You will work closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist and wider Neurodevelopmental Team to support diagnostic pathways and ongoing care.
Clinical Responsibilities
• Lead on ADHD medication titration and ongoing review for CYP
• Undertake specialist clinical work relating to ADHD prescribing
• Support diagnostic outcomes within the Neurodevelopmental Team
• Provide and oversee interpretation of Qb Tests
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care within scope of practice
Leadership & Supervision
• Provide clinical supervision and oversight to the nurse prescriber workforce
• Ensure safe, effective prescribing practices across the pathway
• Support development of competencies in ADHD assessment and diagnosis
• Promote continuous professional development within the team
Service Development
• Lead the development and delivery of non-pharmacological ADHD interventions
• Contribute to the ADHD transformation programme
• Work with medicines management and pharmacy teams to ensure safe prescribing
• Support service improvement, audit, and quality initiatives
Partnership Working
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Liaise with primary care to establish and maintain shared care agreements
• Work flexibly across multiple clinical sites in Coventry and Warwickshire
Professional Responsibilities
• Maintain ACP accreditation through ongoing CPD
• Work within professional, organisational, and national guidelines

Essential Criteria
• Registered healthcare professional (e.g. Nurse, Pharmacist, AHP)
• Master’s level qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice (or equivalent)
• Independent Non-Medical Prescriber
• Significant experience working with children and young people
• Experience in clinical supervision and leadership
• Advanced clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and MDT working skills
Desirable Criteria
• Experience in ADHD or neurodevelopmental services
• Experience in ADHD medication management and titration
• Knowledge or experience of Qb Testing
• Experience in service development or transformation work
• Experience delivering non-pharmacological interventions
