Summary

Larchwood provides short breaks overnight respite care for children and young people with severe and complex needs.

We are looking for a dedicated Children’s Residential Care and Support Worker on a part-time, permanent basis, working 20 hours per week.

As a Children’s Residential Care and Support Worker you will be a highly skilled and motivated team player who is enthusiastic about providing the highest quality of care and support to our children and young people.

We have a rota working pattern, rotas are published one month in advance.

The children and young people are all unique and require individualised care. Staff strive for excellence and ensure that the care provided is responsive to the children and young people’s view, wishes, and feelings.

Key responsibilities...
To participate in the delivery of a range of short break opportunities including tea visits, overnight stays and weekend play sessions.
To keywork for a number of children/young people ensuring their care plans and risk assessments reflect their ever-changing needs.
To develop and support a wide range of fun activities that reflect the children/young people’s wishes and needs.
To promote children and young people’s independence and communication needs.
To promote the welfare of children and young people and to contribute to ensuring that children are safeguarded from abuse.
