Summary
Key Responsibilities To perform comprehensive assessment of patient nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate care delivery according to changing healthcare needs. To collect, collate and report information, maintaining accurate patient records. To work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure needs are met in relation to care input and support for ongoing care needs. To establish and maintain effective communication with patients, carers and relatives. To recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations. To be responsible for the care and safety of each patient, their property and valuables whilst they are in the department. To encourager the involvement of patients and their carers in all aspects of care. To provide patients, family and carers with sufficient and detailed information regarding a proposed examination or procedure, thus ensuring that full, informed consent is freely given. To advise patients on pre and post procedural care and expectations and health promotion as appropriate. To assist the consultants in a variety of diagnostic/interventional procedures.
