Summary
The Environment Agency are fully committed to having an inclusive workforce to reflect the communities we serve. We don't just talk about diversity; we seek it, embrace it, and live it, for the benefit of our staff, our communities, and our environment.
Do you want to join the Environment Agency to shape and support the role it plays in spatial planning and growth?
We are recruiting 2 team leaders to lead our first cohort of graduate planners. Each team leader will line manage a small team of 6 graduate planners and support their graduate journey with the Environment Agency. Working across our Planning and Place teams and our planning teams in operations, the successful candidates will play an exciting role in supporting the development of graduate planners, supporting their rotations around the organisation and giving them the tools to progress in their career(s).
In addition to line management the successful candidates will support our work in establishing spatial planning as a formal profession within the Environment Agency, working with a team of colleagues in Planning and Place, working with colleagues across the organisation, across government and with professional bodies.
The roles will sit in our Planning Advice Team, part of Planning and Place in our Environment & Business Directorate.
While geographically dispersed, we excel at remote collaboration and work and collaborate in person at our offices across the country.
The team
You’ll join our supportive and professional Planning and Place Team within the Environment & Business Directorate. We lead on sustainable places and integrated environmental and spatial planning; technical leadership; and workforce planning for Sustainable Places.
In E&B we promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive culture where everyone feels valued. We use evidence, expertise, engagement, and innovation to enhance and support delivery, influence policy, legislation, and secure resources.
