Summary
Early Years Practitioner – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing role starting ASAP with flexible shift patterns
This early years setting provides a warm, nurturing and well‑structured learning environment where young children benefit from caring adults, predictable routines and engaging daily activities. Staff work collaboratively to uphold high expectations, helping children feel safe, confident and eager to explore. Pupils respond positively to purposeful early years provision that supports communication, independence and steady developmental progress.
Duties as Early Years Practitioner:
- Work full time across flexible shift patterns as required by the setting
- Support learning and care for children in early years provision
- Deliver developmentally appropriate, play‑based learning opportunities
- Assist with planning and preparation of age‑appropriate activities
- Support early literacy, numeracy, communication and social development
- Maintain a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment
- Help with observations, assessments and progress notes
- Assist with daily routines including settling, hygiene, transitions and meal support
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent EYFS practice
- Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise child welfare
Ideal Early Years Practitioner:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification is essential
- Confident supporting early childhood development in a nursery or school EYFS setting
- Warm, patient and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Able to work flexibly across different shift patterns
- Reliable, proactive and committed to high‑quality early years practice
