We are seeking an experienced, organised, and confident School Receptionist to join a welcoming and busy school office in Middlesbrough.
This is an immediate‑start temporary position running until the end of May 2026.
As the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of the school's front office
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting visitors, parents, and pupils in a friendly and professional manner
- Managing incoming calls and emails
- Supporting general administrative tasks within the school office
- Maintaining accurate records and filing systems
- Handling queries and signposting to relevant members of staff
- Ensuring safeguarding and visitor procedures are followed at all times
About You
- Previous experience in a school office or busy reception environment is desirable
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
- Confident using IT systems and following school procedures
- Reliable, professional, and able to commit to the fixed working hours
This role is full-time, 8am-4pm, and the hours cannot be adjusted. The successful candidate must be fully available to start as soon as possible with an enhanced DBS registered to the update service
